Dr. Bing Zhang earned his bachelor's degree from Shandong University and his Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University. He then conducted postdoctoral research in the Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology at Harvard University, focusing on studying adult stem cells and tissue regeneration in mammalian skin. His discovery of the "nerve-stem cell interaction" between sympathetic nerves and melanocyte stem cells was recognized as one of the "10 remarkable discoveries from 2020" by Nature.

Dr. Zhang has received the Harvard University Distinguished Teaching Award and the Charles A. King Trust Postdoctoral Fellowship.
