Danyang He, PhD

Dr. Danyang He earned her Bachelor’s degree with honors in Biological Sciences from Tsinghua University in 2011 and her Ph.D. in Integrative Biology from UT Southwestern Medical Center in 2016. She then continued her postdoctoral training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School in 2017. In 2020, Dr. He joined Westlake University as a full-time Assistant Professor and currently holds the position of Chen Yan Life Sciences Assistant Professor position. Her laboratory is dedicated to elucidating the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying the interactions between the immune and nervous systems during development and disease. In particular, her research focuses on understanding how innate and adaptive immunity influence the early wiring of neural circuits during central nervous system ​(CNS) development, and how these processes affect tissue immunity in the contexts of aging, neuroinflammation, and neurodegeneration.
