Yulia Sandamirskaya is an applications research lead at the Intel’s Neuromorphic Computing Lab in Munich. She obtained a degree in Physics from the BSU in Minsk, Belarus in 2005 and Dr. rer. nat. from the Institute for Neural Computation in Bochum, Germany in 2010.
She led the “Neuromorphic Cognitive Robots” group in the Institute of Neuroinformatics (INI) at the University of Zurich and ETH Zurich in 2015-2020. She has been the chair of the EUCOG (European Society for Cognitive Systems) and the Coordinator of the NEUROTECH project that supports and develops the neuromorphic computing community in Europe.
In her research, she develops neuronal architectures to enable neuromorphic hardware applications.
